The American Osteopathic Association's Council on Postdoctoral Training currently authorizes residency training in the recognized specialty of neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). This specialty training is sponsored by a number of osteopathic medical schools in affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Specialty training programs consist of three types, all which may qualify the successful resident to sit for specialty board examination in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and OMM:
